About us

Web 2.0 The Magazine is published by veteran technology guru, Stan Veit. Stan has been active in the computer field since the early 1950’s, serving first as a technical writer for such firms as Servo Corp of America, IT&T, Bell Labs and Time Sharing Resources. In 1976, Stan and his wife, Dede, opened “The Computer Mart of New York,” the second personal computer store in the world and the first one to sell more than one brand of computer. Foreseeing the impact of personal computers, Stan also implemented the personal computer lab for The New School University, became an instructor at that school, and wrote “Getting Involved with Your Own Computer” one of the first personal computer books published, “Using Personal Computers In Business” and several computer buying guides.

Following the demise of Computer Mart, Stan moved full time into writing, editing, and publishing, becoming Computer Editor of” Popular Electronics Magazine,” later “Computers & Electronics Magazine.” In 1983, Stan moved to Titusville, FL to become Editor-in-Chief & Publisher of Computer Shopper Magazine. Under Stan’s direction, Computer Shopper became the largest personal computer magazine. Upon its sale to Ziff Davis, Stan became Editor-in-Chief Emeritus and continued as a columnist until 1995. Since then he has kept abreast of the field through local technology endeavors including being President of Webzene Publishing, where he was responsible for the design, maintenance, and hosting of websites for sports organizations.
